Remembering Chloe (2013-2023)

In January 2023, Chloe was the victim of an attack by a large dog, Stella, who was lost control of during a walk in the neighborhood. Stella was not spayed, has attacked other dogs in the past, and has been maintained in less-than-desirable living conditions. And most unfortunately, Stella's owner did not accept responsibility for her dog's fatal attack against Chloe. Instead, Stella's owner blamed the owner of Chloe for not picking up Chloe during the attack.

This type of incident could have been avoided through responsible dog ownership. Stella is not a bad dog because of her breed – she developed bad habits after being the victim of irresponsible dog ownership, and Chloe was the one that had to pay the ultimate price.

The death of Chloe is an example of why we should all practice responsible dog ownership. Spay and neuter your pets, take necessary precautions if you know your dog is prone to aggressive behavior, and never blame the victim of the attack for our dog's actions. As responsible dog owners, it is our job to make sure that our dogs are contributing to a safe environment for all. Our actions as dog owners ultimately impact the lives of other humans and dogs in our community. Do your part to make sure it's a positive impact.
